Happy Earth Day!

As we explore more around our 5 acres, I am finding plants I love. All these little things are confirmations to me that we are exactly where we should be. Gives me that cozy content feeling. ๐Ÿ™‚ When we moved away from Loveland four years ago, the lilac bush I had planted had just reached up to our bedroom window and I missed the first spring of seeing and smelling those beautiful flowers in the house. I was SO disappointed! I left behind five years of landscaping that yard with roses, grapes, raspberries, lilacs, clematis, climbing vines, and perennial herbs. We had built a small river rock wall and a rock feature with desert plants, raised square beds, built our own fire pit, and put up an entryway made of beams. All on one eighth of an acre. ๐Ÿ™‚ That place will always have a special place in my heart because it was where my love of gardening and landscaping was sparked and fanned into a flame.

It’s amazing how we have many of the plants I love already established in the new place! There are numerous roses, four clematis, lots of very established lilacs, tulips, bleeding heart, violets, and apple trees. There’s even a small cement-enclosed pond with a pump for a fountain right outside the house. ๐Ÿ™‚ Here are the plants I’ve found so far!

Not sure…

Can you kids find the special insect in the last picture??? We have been able to hear them buzzing all around the trees during the day. ย ๐Ÿ™‚ ย Speaking of which, we are going to pick up our first hive today! We really are farmers now, don’t you think? Look below to see what else we have!

I hope you take some time to enjoy the outdoors and soak up some of the beauty of Creation today! And every day. ๐Ÿ™‚
